Buy-to-let

Landlords, just remember that this is not going to be your home.

Other people have different tastes, so anything too idiosyncratic will not have many takers.  You need to keep things plain and simple.

Don't forget, this is an investment so, when choosing your property, you will need to bear a few important points in mind:

  • location (do properties of this kind let in that area?)
  • condition (are you going to have to do any major repairs before you start?)
  • maintenance (will it be relatively easy to maintain?)
  • resale (could you realise your capital relatively quickly if you needed to?)
  • mortgage (could you get a mortgage which will fit the rental value?)

Our first consideration is to assess your needs - you can assist with this by filling in a profile with one of our staff. This will enable us to:

  • find out what you have in mind
  • undertake a property search
  • make a rent appraisal of likely properties
  • report on chosen properties and then visit, with you
  • advise on obtaining a suitable mortgage
  • communicate with solicitor, accountant, lender, etc as necessary

Once you have bought the property, you will be able to use our:

  • renovation advice service if necessary
  • letting and management service (see landlords section)

Not sure if this is for you? Come and talk to us - an initial consultation is free of charge.

If you wish to build a portfolio or organise your properties to the best advantage, we have links with advisors who are able to help with long-term strategy.
